Newport Pagnell says Goodbye to their Town Clerk
AFTEr 13 YEArS of service to the Town, Mrs Lesley Welch has decided to move with her family away from the area.
Lesley, was instrumental in ensuring that the Town achieved its Quality Status Award and over the years has carried out her role with all the qualities that one would expect from a first class clerk.
Commenting on her departure the Town Mayor, Councillor Wendy Egan said: “Lesley has helped the elected members carry out their duties in a most professional way and she will be sadly missed. Her replacement is going to have a hard act to follow. The whole Council, including the office staff, wish her and her family all the best for the future”.

Lavendon Annual Village Show – Saturday 10 September
There are at least eight good reasons why you should put the date of September 10 in your diary NOW.
G Prepare to enter exhibits into any of the nine sections – vegetables, fruit, flowers, cooking and preserves, handicrafts, children 2-4, 5-7, 8-11 and 12-15. (You don’t have to be a Lavendon resident to enter.)
G Tour the village the week prior to the Show and see the scarecrows in the front gardens.
G View the scarecrows in the school field opposite the village hall on the day of the Show, to be judged by Olney councillors, Debbie Brock and Peter Geary.
G Hear the Lavendon schoolchildren perform a mini concert during the Show.
G View the exhibits at the Show.
G Enjoy tea, coffee or a soft drink and a delicious piece of cake. G Win prizes in the raffle and tombola.
G Buy some bargain Show exhibits from the stalls, following the Show.
Schedules are available in the Village Shop, the Green Man, the Horseshoe and other outlets in and around Lavendon.
