Lights Volunteers need help
from the local community
Every year since 1960 the festive lighting display in Newport Pagnell has been maintained and installed by volunteers in the town. This year the volunteer group is desperately in need of additional finances.
We already raise our own funds by a Sponsor a Bulb scheme, where people can sponsor a bulb or lighting feature for a minimum fee; and an annual raffle. We also generate some income from our burgers and drinks stall on switch on day and also hold various fund raising events such as rock and roll nights and quiz nights.
This year we need to raise additional funds of several thousand pounds to cover the wall fixings repair, maintenance and stress testing, electrical wiring repairs and maintenance and replacement of some old and damaged lighting features.
• Do you work for, or know, a company who may like to make a significant financial donation to the lights in exchange for being mentioned as a major sponsor of the lights?
• Do you have fundraising experience and would be willing to donate some time or advice to help us?
• Would you like to join the group of volunteers who install the lights, or the fundraising team?
• Are you experienced in wall fixings repair and stress testing, or electrical maintenance and able to donate some time or advice to assist us?
• Would you just like to donate some money? If so, we will have tins in several shops in Newport Pagnell where you can make a donation.
