It’s back: MOTORAMA
Olney Market Place, 9th June 2013, 12:00 – 4:00pm
This should be bigger and better than any we have seen in the past with more vehicles and attractions to keep the motoring enthusiast happy.
Record numbers of cars of all shapes, sizes and ages are expected and a special feature this year will be the arrival of 50 Model T Fords, which will be parked up in the lower Car Park at Silver End.
By the time you read this, our roads closure application should have been given the green light

in some of the entrant vehicles will be available as prizes so you could well top the day with a tour around Olney in a very classic way. With many of the shops & bars in and around the marketplace being open, it should be a day with plenty of interest for all the family so come down and wallow in nostalgia.
Got a vehicle you would like to enter? Entry forms are available from our website www.npolneylions.btck.co.uk Bob Benbow (bob.benbow@ btinternet.com) or call him on 07780 978628.

On a slightly different motoring front, I came across this elegant gentleman on a visit to Tesco’s in Milton Keynes

known as “The Blood Bikes”. Dave is one of the large number of volunteers who ride the specially equipped motor bikes which are used to deliver vital blood, medical records, drugs and various other supplies between hospitals when the regular NHS delivery service is nished for the day.
My eye was was drawn to the box which Dave was using to support his main pannier and the large Lions insignia which it bore. Dave advised me that this was one of many Milk Boxes donated to the service by Yeovil Lions club and is used speci cally to transport emergency supplies of Breast Milk to hospitals all over the Country when critically ill, new born babies require feeding and for various reasons, breast milk is unavailable at the treating unit. Whilst this charity is probably unknown to many
