A quick update on little William Crook
Help support GOSH and The Sick Children's Trust at
A Night of Music
o it is nearly a whole year since William Crook was born Sand he started on the road that has led him this far. On 16th February William came home to Lavendon for the first time. His Mummy and Daddy, Claire and Justin, had spent nearly a week living at Great Ormond Street, perfecting their techniques to look after him at home. William is fed via a line in his leg, he has medications administered into that same line or directly into his
gastrostomy , an opening in his tummy and soon will have growth drugs given daily by his parents as an injection; these are all new skills for the family to cope with.
Four days a week William has dialysis at GOSH to clean his blood and remove fluid which builds up due to the renal failure. He and one parent, invariably Claire, get collected by hospital transport for their day in London . They then spend up to six or seven hours on dialysis before the long journey home. All this means that "family" life has got a new routine. We know that William will need further surgery and inpatient stays at GOSH, so the family will undoubtedly return to Guilford Street and the Sick Children's Trust.
On 26th April there is a charity concert being held at the Carlton House Club to raise funds for these charities . On the bill we have The Bolivian Sunshine Dog's, Paul & Laura, and topping the night will be another local band Error 404. Tickets are £15 and available from CT Wilson and Son on the High Street. Hurry though as tickets are selling fast!! Raffle prizes are also gratefully received if any kind soul wanted to donate one for us.
