James Goff and his Big Band Olney Masonic Club very year the Olney Masonic Club runs a bar at the Olney ERaft Face and a stall selling mulled wine and hot chestnuts at Dickens of a Christmas. At these events we proudly display that we are raising money for local good causes. However, recently we have been asked what we do with the money, and who are the beneficiaries? In past years we have given donations to schools, churches, senior citizens, the rugby club, play groups, the tennis club, St John's Ambulance, the Willen Hospice and the Cowper and Newton Museum , to name but a few . So far this year we have donated money to Olney Pre School, The Sick Children's Trust, the Cowper and Newton Museum, Olney Senior Citizens Club, St Peter and Paul's discretionary fund, Stoke Goldington Youth Club, Prostate Cancer testing (The Fulford Trust) and seven-year-old Josh Wilton, who will represent the UK in the World Amateur Kick Boxing Championships . Throughout the past four years we have raised more than £13,000. Hopefully, you can see we really do put your money back into the local community. The Olney Masonic Club now has more than 200 members who meet regularly in Olney and will continue to support local good causes. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at any future functions. For more information about the Olney Masonic Club, please contact the chairman Michael Bearman on (01908) 611274.
