Lavendon WI
Flaxbourne Gardens
In July, members spent an enjoyable evening at Flaxbourne Gardens at Apsley Guise. Our ladies were warmly welcomed by hosts Geoff and Davina who had established the gardens in the early 80s. Luckily the rain held off whilst we were given an informative tour by Geoff who has a great sense of humour. There was an enviable variety of trees and plants plus many interesting features including a small castle with a moat, a waterfall and a windmill. It was difficult to believe that the whole area had just been a field before . Hot drinks and biscuits were enjoyed at the end of the tour. All proceeds were given to charity.
On Monday4thAugustwe have organised an Indian Cookery Demonstration at 7.45pm in Lavendon Village Hall. Visitors welcome - cost £5 to include tastings.
Numbers are limited and tickets can be obtained from Pauline Montague (Treasurer). Tel: 01234 241899

The baptism families and their friends were able to help enjoy Ron's cake with a glass of bubbly before they went off for their own parties, so a good time was had by all !
