Raising awareness for Willen Hospice and Prostate Cancer
a fairy) creating lots of fun with her wonderful animal shaped balloons and craft inspired by the sea. There was a beautiful seascape picture, decorated with sand, jewels and coloured sea creatures. This will be donated to Willen Hospice to adorn their walls for the patients and staff to enjoy.
Guests were kindly asked to bring along donations of cakes, biscuits, unwanted jewellery and books, with 100% of proceeds going to charity. We approached local businesses around Olney to donate raffle prizes and we were overwhelmed by the generosity and support we received.
We would like to say a personal thank you to Dandelion, Lily T’s, Noa Noa, Wooster’s, The Courtyard, Beans, Costa, Alban Hill Nursery, Body Force, The Toy Shop, Therapy, Northampton Saints, Audi, Skoda, Mandala, Creative Ceramics, Café Rosco, Bacchus Wines, Salon at 46 and O’Riordan Bond Estate Agents (amongst others) for their huge
generosity and kindness.
We are still counting the pennies but, thanks to fantastic support from the 180 family and friends who attended the event, we have so far raised £1,715. The final total may even be higher, and that’s a fantastic amount for two hours of fun and cake.
We can’t thank those who attended enough for their support and we hope all of you had an enjoyable afternoon. Every penny you donated goes direct to the two charities and really will make a difference to peoples’ lives.
We hope that the money raised will provide some much needed awareness for Prostate Cancer, and that Willen Hospice will continue to do an amazing job for terminally ill people and their families. For me, they will continue to be a special place where part of my father will always be. I will always find an element of peace within their walls and people. Thank you.
