Olney Tennis Club
Adult Teams – Sponsored by Stephen Oakley & Co
There was high drama at Stony Stratford when Olney Mens A and Olney Ladies B took part in the MK Finals Day.
First the Ladies B took on David Lloyd and won. Then, the Mens A played against the Open University and after a strong start came out 6-2 winners. Well done to both teams who were also promoted this season.
The Mens Bucks team finished in mid table after their last match against Princes Risborough. The team included three players
making their debut – Juniors Tim Ball, Patrick McGivern and Peter Beecroft. All played well but the strong opposition won 6-3. Regarding other teams, the Mixed A did well to stay in the very competitive Division One. The Mens B, Ladies C and Mixed C stayed put while the Mens C went down. In all, more than 60 players represented the club.
For the winter season, we have entered a record eight teams, giving everybody a chance to play team tennis.
Coaching
There is a comprehensive programme of coaching for young and older for all levels. Have a look at on our website or call our Head Coach Nigel on 07946 734 377. We particularly recommend the Rusty Rackets session for those thinking of playing again.
