Fireworks Go Off with a Big Bang this November
Olney fireworks to be synced with music for first time, with Hollington Wood, Milton Keynes, Turvey, Bozeat, Santa Pod and Ampthill also boasting firework displays to remember!
Olney
This year, the ever-popular Olney Fireworks are being held on Sunday 1st November at the Recreation Ground behind the Football Club off East Street. Gates open at 5pm and the display will begin at 6:30pm. As always, paying in advance will save you a few pennies; entry is £4 per person when paid in advance or £5 on the gate. Tickets can be bought in advance from CT Wilson & Sons, McColl’s, Stephen Oakley and at the Phonebox Magazine office. The evening also offers some high quality food including wood- fired pizzas, a licensed bar, a fire-performer and a fair. For the first time in the history of this event, the fireworks will also be synced with music, promising an unforgettable display!
Hollington Wood
Once again Hollington Wood will be hosting their ‘Apocalypse Now’ annual bonfire party celebrating fire, the magic of autumn and all things Pagan on Saturday 31st October. The bonfire will be lit at 5pm with the fireworks starting at 6pm. Not for the faint-hearted, but for the reckless and brave, fireworks lighting up the trees is an unforgettable experience! Arrangements will be similar to last year with a shuttle bus running from Prospect Place, Newport Rd, Emberton, MK46 5JQ from 4.45pm to 5.45pm. Return shuttle 7.30pm-8.30pm.
Only limited car parking is available so spaces (£10 per car) must be pre-booked via info@hollingtonwood.com or Philip on 07762 441275.
In order to cover costs, donations will be expected. We suggest adults £10, children £5 and families £25.
Refreshments including home-made soup, home-grown sausages and mulled wine & cider will be available.
Turvey
Turvey Fireworks and Bonfire Night, on Saturday 7th November, promises to be a great evening out. Gates open at 5:30pm with ‘Best Guy’ judging at 6pm and the bonfire being lit at 6:15pm. Later on at 7pm, the fireworks display will take place alongside a barbecue. Entry on the night is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, or fast-track entry wristbands are available at Turvey stores for £4 per adult and £2 per child.
Bozeat
In Bozeat, a fireworks display will be held on Thursday 5th November, at the Playing Fields on Dychurch Lane. Gates will open at 6pm and the display will start at 7:30pm. As they did last year, a national award-winning fireworks team will be running the display that they have said will be “choreographed to perfection!” Attractions include a mini fun-fair and a bar with mulled wine for the adults. Tickets can be bought in advance from the Paper Shop in Bozeat at the cost of £4 per adult and £2 for children and senior citizens. On the night, tickets will be £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. They hope to be able to make donations to local charities with the money raised.
Santa Pod
This year, Santa Pod Raceway has two events. The first is on Saturday 31st October from 8am- 8pm: Flame and Thunder, with free entry for under 16s, and £25 per car. The second event is on Saturday 7th November from 4pm-7pm, and includes fireworks, a Monster Truck show, a Stunt Display, a bonfire and fun fair, plus catering and bar facilities. A standard ticket is £20 per car or tickets can be bought in advance for £15 on santapod.co.uk.
Ampthill
Finally Ampthill Fireworks are taking place on Friday 6th November, offering pre-show live acts, a fairground and food facilities. Gates open at 6pm with fireworks starting at 8pm. Tickets can be bought on the gate for £7 per adult and £4 per child, or for £6 per adult and £3 per child if bought in advance from The Stationery and Gift Boutique or Waitrose in Ampthill.
As always, wrap up warm and enjoy the displays!
Milton Keynes
On Sunday 1st November, the Milton Keynes Fireworks display is also taking place from 7:30pm onwards at Campbell Park. This, as always, is an extravagant event with lots of food, drink and entertainment with no booking required.
Also the day prior to this, on Saturday 31st October, is the Gulliver’s Land Fantastic Fireworks event, held during the evening. Tickets can be booked online at gulliversfun.co.uk.
