Emberton School
A New School Year
Welcome everyone to a brand new school year where our first theme is “Super Heroes”! We can all think of our favourite film or TV characters who have those magical powers, but what about those a bit closer
to home – our local super hero police officer, paramedic and vet have all been visiting us and inspiring the children in their learning. And what makes a super hero anyway – someone who is kind, helpful and strong; “someone who gives up their time and energy” said Ella – so Mum and Dad must also be super heroes too!
We are a class of “Tigers” at Emberton School and have been busy learning about these brave, strong animals – making masks and writing poems. Of course we were thrilled to celebrate “The Tiger who came to (the Queen’s) Tea (party)” and have been researching, making crowns and drawing portraits of our longest reigning monarch along with her now runner up, before decorating cakes for the very special occasion.
Would you like to be more involved with your local school? We have vacancies for committed volunteer governors who play an important part in helping to deliver education to our young learners. If you would like to know more about this, please contact the head teacher Mrs Jill Norton for details.
If you are interested in your child attending a small rural school, come to our Open Morning on Thursday 22nd October and see how we operate in our nurturing and enabling environment. We have a few current places available; or maybe you are considering us for next September. Check out our website at www.embertonschool.co.uk and call us on 01234 711518. We would love to show you around!

Meanwhile, the Learning Ladybirds in Years 1 and 2 are exploring ‘Superheroes’ through cartoon work, discovering more about the artist Roy Lichtenstein. Real-life local ‘Superheroes’ including policeman and fire-fighters are also visiting School to inspire the children further.
