Olney Town Hanging Baskets
The baskets are prepared and planted ready
It is getting near that time of year when we put out the hanging baskets. All is going well again. The baskets are prepared and planted ready. Sponsors have stepped up yet again to support the project.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank those sponsors who pay up each year so that we can all get the bene ts of the hanging baskets. The sponsors are shops, businesses, organisations and clubs in the town but also there are sponsors who are individual people of Olney who are wonderfully public spirited. There are businesses out of town who are owned by Olney folk. There are quite a few people who like to remember loved ones. This is my favourite group because it is so nice to know that a loved one is still remembered. Better than an advert in a paper!
Whilst thanking people I would like to mention Westwood Farm and Nursery (Little Odell) who produce the baskets so well each year at a price that is never going to make them rich; also C.T. Wilsons whose help is invaluable. Last but de nitely not least the noble gang of volunteers who put the baskets up and then take them down again at the end of summer.
