Sherington School
A trip to Pizza Express
Sherington CE School have had a busy end to the spring term. Staff and parents were very proud of all of the children who raised lots of money for
Sports Relief by running a mile around the school grounds – thank you to our PTFA for organising such a fun event!
We also enjoyed a whole school trip to Pizza Express at the Hub Milton Keynes where the children learned how to make a pizza which they were able to take home for their tea!
Our annual egg rolling competition was as exciting as ever and the children enjoyed parading their Easter bonnets in front of their
Turvey Lower School
Each year the Sharnbrook Academy Federation hold a Creative Arts Festival in Sharnbrook Upper’s theatre and invites all their feeder schools to participate. Each school presents a creative piece of their choice and the festival runs over 3
days and gives the children a wonderful opportunity to act or dance in a theatre environment and perform to their family and friends.
This year, inspired by both their class topic of Space & Planets and the space travels of Tim Peake, our Year 3 and 4s worked with their class teacher to choreograph a number of individual, group and whole class dance pieces. The end result was a very creative and unique whole dance set to New Beginnings from New World Music, which delighted the audience. This proved to be a tting end to a very informative topic which was enjoyed by all the children, and who knows may have inspired the next generation of British space travellers!
New Beginnings proved to be an apt choice in music, as Bedford Borough gave the approval for conversion to 2 Tier education. This will see Turvey Lower converting to a primary school from September 2017, with the majority of our children, having just a single
parents and carers who were able to enjoy a coffee and hot cross bun after the event courtesy of our PTFA.
Our new topics for the summer term will be ‘why do ladybirds have spots?’ for our Reception Sparrows and ‘wriggle and crawl’ for our Year 1 and 2 Robins and Owls. We look forward to a special visit from Bugtopia who will bring lots of different creepy crawlies to school for the children to get up close to!
If you have a child starting school and you would like to look around our small, friendly school with great outdoor space and facilities, please call 01908 610470 to arrange an appointment.

Newton Blossomville School
Our children have been very excited to be part of two new free after-school clubs this term. The chess club is going very well thanks to a knowledgeable parent helper and one of our year 2 pupils who is guiding us superbly with the help
of his home made video tutorials. All the children are learning the game quickly as well as some set moves to ensure they can beat their siblings! Forest School Club has got off to a great start with some bug hunting on the river bank. Recently Mr Jackson, one of our governors was also delighted to be part of the club giving him the opportunity to talk to the children about their outdoor learning.
We have an exciting term ahead with visits planned to the ballet, a local farm and Warwick Castle. If you would like an outstanding school for your child we still have some places available for September 2016. Please contact the school at of ce@newtonblossomvillle.milton-keynes. sch.uk for more information.
