The Polar Explorers
Agroup of twenty-seven 5 to 11 year olds greatly enjoyed the three days of exciting ‘expeditions’ at Lavendon Baptist Church’s Easter Holiday Club. Based on Scripture Union’s Programme, ‘Polar
Explorers’, each daily expedition was led by ‘Sir Ransome Finds’ and ‘Bare Feet’ in an adventurous quest to learn more about our Carbon Footprint and how to take care of the beautiful world God created for us.
Helped by a team of fantastic Huskies, our group of young Polar Explorers got into the swing of things with competitions, quizzes, storytelling and craft activities. The fantastic activities ranged from being the fastest to dress in Polar Explorer gear, to making a decorated shoe box backpack, to making binoculars, to making a ame head band with which they could see in the dark!
“Where are we going to next?” asked several of the Polar Explorers. Good question! We shall have to wait until the next Holiday Club to nd out...
