5. You will now have a lake on your right, behind the hedge the track becomes a path that eventually runs behind the houses of Redhouse Park, this path is nearly a kilometre long and exits on to the Wolverton Road at Great Linford, cross over the road and in to Marsh Drive. Cross over to the right hand side of the road and over the bridge above the redway to the canal bridge, drop down to the tow path before the bridge and turn right.
6. Follow the tow path for a kilometre passing the Black Horse on your right, pass under the road bridge and shortly turn right to go up to the road side path. Turn right over the canal bridge to the junction at Selkirk Drive, cross here and then cross over the Wolverton Road at the pedestrian crossing, turn right and return to the car park.
Please remember to close all gates after you and to take any litter home, and if you have dogs with you please have them on a lead, as there will be sheep and cattle in elds and possibly horses.
The idea behind these occasional walks is to encourage us to visit our neighbouring towns and villages and to enjoy their surrounding countryside, the different seasons can greatly effect the scenery, with delightful owers in the meadows and woodlands in spring time, wild fruit in autumn and crisp clear frosty days in winter can often increase the distance you can see as well as blowing away those winter cobwebs.
Reversing the walks can also give different views that you might miss in one direction and adds another walk to your repertoire.
All of our walks can be traced using the Ordnance Survey Explorer Maps No’s: 192/207/208/223/224 these contain a wealth of information for planning walks within the Phonebox catchment and nearby local area.
