Is he aware that probably nine out of 10 pensioners are just over the threshold and ineligible to apply?I also contacted Mr Curtis to find out his views regarding the support of pensioners in his constituency, of which there must be several thousand, and specifically about how he would vote regarding the removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance. It took a good while for me to elicit a response, which was not very encouraging. It is now clear where he %u2013 and the other Milton Keynes MP %u2013 stand on pensioners, as they both voted at Westminster in favour of removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance. They voted for their political party and not for their constituents which is disgraceful.I look forward to meeting Mr Curtis one day to discuss his views on the thousands of Senior Citizens who will suffer and possibly die because of his support of dispensing with this benefit.Name and address suppliedSkateboard StatusDear SirIt%u2019s been a fair while since the skateboard park has been discussed, and I can%u2019t seem to find any further information regarding its status. I don%u2019t mind driving to Milton Keynes Bowl, but I think this park would be greatly received and used by myself and the local skateboarding community. The Olympics showcased the best parts of what is a growing worldwide sport, and while it may seem too modern for many, it is, in fact, the future.D. Hart, by emailIntroducing NP MatsDear SirFrom Churches Together, Newport PagnellThe Newport Pagnell Emergency Help Scheme was established by the churches in the town over 40 years ago. It quickly narrowed its focus to offering a transport service to Newport Pagnell residents who had medical appointments, whether those were local or further afield. A team of volunteer drivers was recruited (not exclusively from the churches), whose expenses were reimbursed, and over the years they have provided a much valued service. In the last year, 408 passengers were taken to their appointments, the majority in Milton Keynes, but others to hospitals as far away as Oxford and High Wycombe. In recent years, a number of drivers have had to withdraw from the scheme, some through age or ill health, others because of caring responsibilities. We are now looking to recruit replacements who could drive for us, even occasionally. Full information can be obtained from our Volunteer Coordinator, Dave Maynard, on 07947 020169. He will arrange for prospective drivers to be DBS checked and covered by our Public Liability Insurance (drivers need to have their own motor insurance and be covered for volunteer driving %u2013 not usually a problem). We are taking this moment to update the name of the scheme to NP MATS %u2013 the Newport Pagnell Medical Appointments Transport Service %u2013 which we think more accurately reflects what we provide.Chris Row, Chair %u2013 NP MATS
