The Rotary organisation has been around for more than 100 years, and originated in the USA with a small group of businessmen lead by Paul Harris. The movement initiates and enables local and international community and humanitarian projects and is the largest service organisation in the world.
Social Events.Belonging to a Rotary Club doesnʼt mean giving one hundred per cent to fund raising alone. One may not be good at shaking tins and buckets, or escorting a group of children on a day out to Whipsnade Rotarians may have other talents or contacts, how to promote or market projects, or simply possess the skills to help organise fund raising or social events. Our clubsʼ social occasions are varied and past and present events include an annual dinner/ dance, visits to the Coventry Motor Museum, theatre trips, Trafficmaster, Air Traffic Control Unit, the Luton Vauxhall Van Plant, several breweries!!,

The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell is now searching for suitable candidates wishing to travel for a four week vocational, cultural and social exchange to Auckland, New Zealand for the period Friday 5th. April to Sunday 5th. May, 2013. Thereʼs still time for YOU to apply for the opportunity to be part of a team of four or five accompanied by a Rotarian team leader.

Fun and Friendship. Our members come from Newport Pagnell, Olney and adjacent areas. We continually seek to broaden our horizons, identify and enjoy being in the company of like-minded men and women, and experience the unique brand of fun and fellowship through the medium of our vibrant, friendly and energetic club. As a Rotary club, we arrange, engage in, and partake of social gatherings at regular intervals: fascinating talks by experts in their field, lively discussions, dinners, interactive debates and events. We organize group visits to places of interest for the benefit of our members, wives, husbands and guests.
Membership..The Newport Pagnell Rotary Club was formed in 1963, and has been serving the local, national and international communities continuously since then.
Male and female applicants need to be aged between 25 and 40 at the date of application, must have been employed in their current chosen vocation for at least two years, and have their employerʼs approval and/or support for the tour. The exchange is a ʻsingle vocationʼ visit, and successful applicants will be employed within the educational, literacy and numeracy sphere and could include those engaged in getting
The world has obviously changed over the years, but Rotary has held on firmly to its standards and integrity. By belonging to a highly respected and recognised national and international organisation members are given the ideal opportunity to significantly extend their circle of friends and contacts via Rotary Clubs across the world.As a member of the Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell you have the option of becoming involved to a large or small degree - or anywhere in between.
Are you Interested? The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell meets every Wednesday at the Swan Revived Hotel, Newport Pagnell. We would be delighted to see men and
across information and leaflets - Story Writers or Story Tellers - Further Education – working with those who havenʼt passed GCSE in Maths/ numbers - those teaching English as a second language – Librarians - prison or institution officers employed in teaching literacy and numeracy - University/ College lecturers.
We are often involved with adjoining Rotary clubs in Milton Keynes and the local area on various projects and events.
Fund Raising. Fund raising is an essential part of Rotary life, but itʼs very important that we enjoy ourselves whilst doing so. We raise money in aid of Willen Hospice, to whom we have donated several thousand pounds over the years. Our Rotary Club supports many charities, including the Jaipur Limb Project, Southern Africasʼ Children, Aquabox, Shelterbox, Polio eradication worldwide and other local, national and international charities. We have collected more than 40,000 pairs of spectacles for over-seas
women who have time to spare, would like to make new friends, and are interested in making a difference locally, nationally and internationally.
All the costs of the exchange are paid for by the Rotary organisation, including air and land travel and other connected expenses. The only finance required by applicants is personal spending money and travel insurance.
