                                 Karate Kicks Out
Sport Relief 2014
n 29th March 2014 , a beautifully 0 sunny Spring morning, four members of Olney TASK Karate
Club performed eleven sets of six Kata (set patterns) on Johnson 's Field for
Sport Relief 2014.
Performing Kata sets expected of students at a Brown Belt grade, Sensei Stephen Aldred, Jack Rodden , Duncan Carroll and Rosie Rodden completed eleven sets of Kata . Ranging from Taikyoku Shodan to Heian Godan , it took them just over an hour . they performed a total of 1562 moves and collected around £15 in donations from passer-bys , which added to the £35 already pledged in sponsorship . All proceeds will be donated to Sport Relief 2014.
Olney TASK Karate Club is a club for all ages from six years old upwards. Training in traditional Shotokan Karate,they are underthe guidance of Chief Instructor Shihan John van Weenen , 8th Dan. He is supported by Senseis Haydn van Weenen , 2nd Dan , Stephen Aldred, 1st Dan, Joshua Upton, 1st Dan, and Tim Haskell, 1st Dan.
New students are always welcome , and the first two lessons are free! Olney TASK Karate Club meets at Olney Church Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm and at the Olney Youth Club, next to the fire station on East Street, on Thursday evenings from 6.45-7.45pm.
