Olney and Clifton Fishing Association ishing season on rivers ended on 14th March. FIt has been quite a difficult season , with floods creating uncomfortable conditions and lower fish catches . Even so, barbell 141b 6oz, bream Sib 3oz (voted best specimen) , Chub 61b10oz, perch 31b9oz (and even larger ones reported unofficially) and tench 61b10oz have been recorded. Match weights to 161b1oz were obtained, which is quite good considering the conditions . The new season starts on 16th June. Membership cards will be available from 1st June and sold at The Cabin , near The Two Brewers , on Sunday 15th June . The club caters for pleasure anglers, and specimen and match fishermen of all ages . Junior anglers have two matches and can fish in all other club matches (for excellent prizes!) . Olney Table Tennis The Olney-based TTOFS Club (Table Tennis for the Over Fifties) recently held its annual tournaments, which were played in a competitive but fun way . The results were as follows:- Ladies ' singles Mens' singles Mixed doubles Winner Rita Daggett, runner-up Sheila French Winner Bob Mungham , runner-up Geoff O'Brien Winners Maureen Etheridge and Bob Mungham runner-ups Rita Daggett and Steve Armitage Members were particularly grateful to chairperson Carol Clarke , who once again efficiently organised the tournament for them .
