he last month has proved to be another mad yet busy Tand productive time at North Crawley CE School , and the children enjoyed exciting and stimulating activities during
our recent Book Week.
The week was launched with a special story time , and children wore pyjamas to school and enjoyed hot chocolate while listening to the bedtime story 'Billy's Bucket'. Other book related activities included children taking part in a 'blind date ' with a book , where they excitedly chose a book , wrapped it and wrote a short blurb on the plain cover. They could then swap the book with someone else. It was a case of swap , sit back and enjoy!
'Billy's Bucket' by Kes Gray proved to be a very popular book during the week as it was used as inspiration for story writing. The children were presented with their own bucket , which they were asked to fill with five objects . This formed the basis for imaginative speaking, listening and writing activities. The children invented some fantastic and creative stories from their props.
There was even more excitement as the week progressed , when children and staff dressed as fairytale characters . The school was overrun with dragons , princesses , wolves , princes and even a wizard! North Crawley CE School is extremely pleased with its recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). All inspected areas achieved outstanding grades.
The continued hard work and dedication of the staff, governors and parents of North Crawley CE School throughout the inspection should be acknowledged.
