WA great time for tennis
e are running our popular charity event again on Sunday 25th September to raise money for good causes. There will be
social tennis, fancy dress and refreshments so please sign up in the clubhouse. All very welcome. The nals for our summer tournaments sponsored by Stephanie Price Wealth Planning will be on Sunday 11th September from 12pm. Come along and see great tennis and enjoy the refreshments. An exciting promotion to report for our adult teams sponsored by Stephen Oakley Estate Agents. The Ladies C has been promoted as Champions! The Ladies C sealed their title with a tight win against Wolverton thanks to the efforts of Liz Brewster, Mary Jones, Christine Day and Lyn Quennell.
The Mixed B look favourites to be promoted in their division too making it a great season. They nished with a loss against a very strong Gilpin side but celebrated the season with good humour as the photo shows.
The Mens B had a good nish to the season, beating Great Linford 8-0 and the drawing with
David Lloyd. The team in both matches was Tom Field, Chris Wright, Simon Barter and Stephen Bateson.
The Ladies B nished off their season with a hard earned draw at Wolverton thanks to Lynda Baker, Mandy Elliott, Anne Bacon and Margaret Currie. They and the Ladies A will come down a division after tough seasons.
The Mixed A have nished in a commendable third place in a strong league. The Mens A still had lots of matches to play as went to press. Moving on to club developments, Court 4 has been resurfaced giving us four top quality courts. The clubhouse will also be refurbished in October, giving us a great facility.
Try tennis this autumn! After an inspiring summer of British success now’s the time to get back on court or start playing tennis at our friendly club and we have been pleased to welcome new players. You can join any of our club sessions, play in teams or just play with friends. There are no court or light fees and lots of bene ts.
