We would like to update you on the progress made so far and our plans for the future. As you will know, a site has been identifi ed on East Street for a new surgery, and we have recently received approval to undertake an assessment of this location. Whilst this does not guarantee full approval, it is an important step forward. Alongside this, we have submitted a detailed proposal to the government requesting approval and funding for an expanded healthcare facility. This would increase local services and help relieve pressure on hospitals by offering more care in the community. We want to build a healthcare hub in which a much wider range of services could be provided. This could include various outpatient appointments, women%u2019s health (maternity), mental health and older people%u2019s services. Space would also be provided for district nurses and health visitors to work from. This will result in much better communication between all the professionals.Additionally, we want to work more closely with local and national charities to broaden the support we can provide. We will keep you informed if funding is granted, and we will seek your views on additional services that could be provided. We remain optimistic about the outcome and appreciate your continued patience and support as we work towards improving healthcare provision in our community.Best wishes,Dr Katie Herman, Dr Chris Herman and Dr Niall Bacon, Cobbs Garden SurgeryUkraine drop-off queryDear SirI refer to page 52 of the last issue of the Phonebox Magazine.
