Valeriia will undertake closely supervised work in the cleaning and restoration and the structural repair of paintings and have a role in the documentation and examination of loans to and from the Gallery. There will also be the opportunity to become involved in research on paintings in the collection, working in collaboration with the Scientifi c and Curatorial Departments. This is a tremendous achievement as there would have been top conservators from all the world applying for the National Gallery Fellowship and it%u2019s very competitive. Valeriia hopes to become a conservation ambassador in Ukraine in order to promote its heritage to the world.More recently, Valeriia has been involved in conserving the portrait of Heyley from Olney%u2019s Cowper and Newton Museum so generously funded by the Woodmansterne Art Conservation Award.
